Criminal Minds Season 12
At the end of Criminal Minds’ eleventh season, thirteen serial killers escaped from prison. Executive Producer Erica Messer spoke to TV Line last week, revealing that Luke Alvez, played by newcomer Adam Rodriguez, has already helped re-capture eight of the escapees prior to the start of season 12; this prompts David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) to offer him a job with the BAU—an offer he is hesitant to accept at first, but ultimately decides to take. Messer also had this to say about Rodriguez’s debut:
We meet Adam’s character, Luke Alvez, in the field doing what he does, which is be a team leader on the [FBI] Fugitive Task Force. He ends up having this great action-y scene, where you really get to see him shine.

Last year’s cliffhanger ended with serial killers who escaped, but were supposedly caught over the summer by Luke Alvez, the new character played by Adam Rodriguez. “There are still five out there when we come into the premiere,” EP Erica Messer says. “One of them is a guy Peter Lewis plays named Mr. Scratch. He is our baddie for the year. We will stretch him out and tell his creepy tales.”
