NCIS: LA season 8
As CSI Files previously reported, NCIS: Los Angeles started filming scenes for season eight earlier this month, in order to accommodate Daniela Ruah’s (Kensi Blye) pregnancy. Eric Christian Olsen (Marty Deeks) was one of the CBS stars who participated in the “Fan Favorites” panel at Comic-Con last week, and he spoke to Dual Pixels about how Ruah’s pregnancy will be dealt with on the show. Here’s a quote:
We’re day seven in season eight, and my coworker is pregnant, like super pregnant. I know it looks like pasta. It’s a baby.
So they’ve had to shoot around that. So we shot eight episodes of her arc ahead of time. So I know like the first eight episodes of that relationship, and I can say confidently that the best thing that happened to these two characters is that they had to figure out a way to do a storyline to shoot around that because there is a proposal.

Ruah’s current pregnancy isn’t being written into the show, but children are a definite possibility in Kensi and Deeks’ more distant future. TV Guide posted a quote last week from Executive Producer R Scott Gemmill, in which he discussed whether or not Kensi would be likely to quit her job or do something less dangerous after having a child:
It’s tricky, because why would Kensi have to be the one to give up her career? But on the other hand, you don’t want to damage the character by making her seem like she’s not a nurturing individual. Because she has a skill set that she wants to use for as long as she can, because she makes a big difference in people’s lives. It’s a tricky question, especially for Kensi, because of being a woman. I think there’s extra pressure on her to choose one way or the other.
