Here’s the first of three sneak peeks from the NCIS season 13 premiere, “Stop the Bleeding”, featuring Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), CIA Officer Joanna Teague (Mimi Rogers), Mike Franks (Muse Watson) and Dr Cyril Taft (Jon Cryer). (You can also find it on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

Clip number two features Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham), Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll), Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette), Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) and Dr Donald “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum). (It’s also available on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

And here’s scene number three, which features McGee, Abby, Bishop, Palmer and Ducky. (You can also watch it on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

CBS also shared several behind-the-scenes videos. This first one features Perrette, Murray, Dietzen, guest star Cryer and Harmon. (It’s also available on CBS.com and CBS Press Express.)

BTS video number two features Perrette, Cryer and Harmon. (You can also watch it on CBS.com.)

And here’s the third behind-the-scenes video, featuring Murray, Dietzen, Perrette and Cryer. (It can also be found on CBS.com.)

Executive Producer Gary Glasberg spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about season 13, and here’s an excerpt about “Stop the Bleeding”:

Season 12 wrapped up with quite a shocking cliffhanger. What’s to come for Gibbs?

When you leave your main character shot twice on the ground in the Middle East, you have to pick up where you left off. So we pick up right on the heels of that, and Gibbs is rushed into surgery, where he connects with a Navy surgeon, played by Jon Cryer. We’re very excited to have Cryer join the group for these episodes — there are a couple of more coming down the road. He plays the role brilliantly in an old-style M*A*S*H fashion. He and Gibbs really connect, and then when Gibbs comes out of there, fans will really notice a change. You can’t go through something this traumatic and not have it affect you, and it affects Gibbs emotionally and psychologically and physically, and that change will trickle down to the rest of the team. There’s a tremendous amount of emotional stuff that’s going to go on between our team members throughout the season.

Here’s a question from TV Line relating to the premiere:

Question: Any information on NCIS’ upcoming season will be appreciated. —Marsha

Ausiello: Tuesday’s Season 13 premiere features not only fine performances by Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly and guest star Jon Cryer, but also an unexpected amount of (archival) Darby Stanchfield (aka Scandal’s Abby), when Gibbs’ dearly departed daughter Kelly revisits happier days with the in-limbo surgery patient. P.S. Speaking of Cryer’s turn as a Navy doc, here’s one line you wont want to miss.

Fox 411 posted five questions about season 13, and here’s one for the premiere:

1. What is Tony doing while Gibbs is out of commission?

Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and CIA Officer Joanna Teague (Mimi Rogers) are on a manhunt for Daniel Budd and The Calling following Gibbs’ shooting, getting into some pretty action-packed situations in the second half of the premiere episode. Then, just when Tony returns to the U.S. to rejoin the team, they get a lead on Budd’s location.

“It’s taken months of tracking down Daniel Budd. Then the rest of the episode takes them to Shanghai, where Budd is now focused,” Glasberg says. “We pick up on his trail, and it’s like a little movie. There’s a tremendous international flavor to this episode, and the roller coaster ride of what Gibbs is going through as well.”

Glasberg spoke to TV Guide about the premiere, including Gibbs’ hallucinations of people from his past. These include Mike Franks, as seen in one of the sneak peeks above, but there are others as well:

You have to remember that Gibbs is in a difficult place. He’s going to see some things and talk with some people that might surprise everybody. It’s no surprise that Mike is there, but there are some other people from his past who he also interacts with, in some really touching scenes.

Following the NCIS premiere, NCIS: New Orleans will kick off season two with “Sic Semper Tyrannis” at 9:00pm ET/PT. Here’s the first of two clips, featuring Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant), Christopher LaSalle (Lucas Black), Meredith Brody (Zoe McLellan) and Patton Plame (Daryl Mitchell). (You can also watch it on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

Sneak peek number two features Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) and LaSalle. (It’s also available on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

Here’s an interview with Bakula from CBS This Morning, which includes a short clip from “Sic Semper Tyrannis” at the beginning:

Executive Producer Jeffrey Lieber did an interview with the Hollywood Reporter about season two. Here’s a comment about the premiere, which leads into longterm storylines going forward:

At the end of last season, we saw Sonja joining NCIS full-time. How does this affect the team, and what other challenges are ahead?

Because Sonja was ATF before, unlike the on [the original NCIS], on the mothership, where people come in as a probie, she actually comes in as a full agent, but she comes in under LaSalle (Lucas Black) and Brody (Zoe McLellan), and so she’s one of us, but she’s not totally one of us. And we watch her over the course of the season have that learning curve of being a federal agent but not being NCIS. We also launch this really big, big story that comes out of an attack on a military exercise in New Orleans, and this missile is stolen, and it launches this very large arc for the entire season where Pride becomes a man in the crosshairs — we’ll watch him really be a targeted man over the season.

Grant spoke to Headlines & Global News about becoming a series regular. The character faces some pranks and hazing due to being a probie, as seen in one of the sneak peeks above, but she and costar McLellan insisted that their characters not antagonize each other:

There was a moment in the first scene where Zoe’s character [Meredith] Brody comes up to me and she’s giving me crap. Both Zoe and I thought that it was just two colleagues ribbing each other and not like a gender thing. We got a note saying maybe you should try this [a negative slant] and we were both like, ‘No.’ We’re not doing that. We are standing together in that we are two women working together and not working against each other.

Grant also offered Wetpaint a few hints about the plot of tonight’s premiere:

We blow up a bridge, OK? Bridge blows up, we gotta find the dude who did it. Also, it’s my character’s premiere as a probie, and somebody goes undercover to get a really, really bad guy. I don’t think Baitfish has anything on this dude.

Glasberg and Lieber did an interview with TV Fanatic about season two, and here’s an excerpt relating to tonight’s premiere and how it carries into the rest of the season:

TVF: Are we getting season-long arcs or mini arcs this year?

JL: We’re launching a lot this season. Every character of the seven leads has some kind of long-term seasonal arcs from Pride, who buys the bar in the season opener that is a place where his mother used to sing when he was a child. We’ll watch him build it up and bring in some acts to be in the place.

We’re going to tell the story with Pride and LaSalle which goes back to the last murder before the storm 10 years ago. With Brody we launch a story about her dead sister and bring her mother in. Each character has these long character arcs so every episode will have movement in that direction.

On the more procedural end, we open the season with a really big case and a really large opening. By the end of the episode, it opens the door to a bad guy who will be a constant irritant in the season.

GG: Jeff did a really lovely job of setting up a situation that puts Pride in danger for the better part of the season and gives everyone plenty to work with as the season progresses.

Grammy-winning musician Dr John will play himself in “Sic Semper Tyrannis”. Here’s a quote from TV Guide, in which McLellan describes having him on the show:

What was so much fun about shooting with Dr. John was we get to experience really feeling New Orleans. To actually be able to hear him play and sing over and over again and really get that feeling, it just feels so real, because we’re in it. … I had goosebumps when we were filming that. It was a lot of fun. He’s a really, really interesting, awesome guy.
