Check Out More ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘NCIS’ & ‘NCIS:LA’ News & Spoilers
9 min readHere’s another collection of questions, interviews, photos, videos, tweets and spoilers for Criminal Minds, NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Criminal Minds
The series aired it’s 200th installment on February 5, and here’s an article from TV Guide about the big secrets revealed in the episode, including the relationship between JJ Jareau (AJ Cook) and Mateo Cruz (Esai Morales):
Did you tell A.J. and Esai what their secret was early on?
Messer: When we introduced Cruz, I told A.J. and Esai, “This is your history. You were the only one there who knew the loss that she endured and that is a connection that you have with somebody that you can’t explain. It’s just emotional. It’s not romantic, but just the bond you have. He’s a major character in your life because he was there for that.” Everybody sort of read into it as an affair. They care for each other, but not like that.
Check out this article from Variety about showrunner Erica Messer. “This show is sort of my third child,” she said. “I’ve been here so long and I’m protective of it in a way that no one else is. I’m the only one left who has cared for this thing from the very beginning.”
Here’s a question from TV Guide:
Will Jane Lynch be back as Reid’s mom on Criminal Minds? — Justin
An episode later this season takes the team to Las Vegas, Reid’s hometown, where he’ll check up on his mom — but she’s not at the Bennington Sanitarium. Don’t worry, she’s not missing. “Reid finds out where she is and how she’s doing, and it’s a nice little through-line to get an update on her without seeing her,” executive producer Erica Messer says. The show is hoping to get Lynch back eventually, but probably not this season.

Here’s a story about Robyn Ross from TV Guide, who was transformed into a corpse like the ones featured on Criminal Minds.
Director Doug Aarniokoski spoke to Criminal Minds Fans about working on the show, and here’s a brief excerpt from the interview:
TJ: What do YOU want to see happen in the final episode of Criminal Minds?
DA: I would like to see our team pass the torch to the next team so that this incredible journey can continue. Because I think there are so many stories left to be told. This world never stops evolving, and I like to think that audiences will continue to love the dissection of the mind of a criminal.

NCIS
Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciuto) will visit the Late Show with David Letterman on Friday, February 21.
Perrette served as the social media reporter at the Grammy Awards on January 26. You can see some photos here, and click the thumbnails below to check out some more:
The cast and crew recently had a party to celebrate the 250 episode milestone, and you can find some photos below:
Also check out these other photos, which have been posted on Twitter over the past few weeks:
Michael Weatherly visited Hollywood Game Night on January 27, and you can watch the full episode here. Here’s a clip from the show:
Hollywood Game Night host Jane Lynch told the Chicago Tribune that Weatherly “is someone who surprised me because he is on a very straight-laced show, ‘NCIS.’ When he was on, he was funny and jumping up and down. I was thinking to myself, he is going to get a sitcom for his performance on ‘Hollywood Game Night.'”
Here are two questions from TV Line:
What is going on with NCIS’ Jimmy Palmer? It seems that the show has toned down his involvement this season. –Sherry
Show boss Gary Glasberg reminds, “We’ve had this [storyline] runner that we started, about his personal life and his wanting to adopt. That’ll continue through the season,” ultimately leading to “an emotional bit of closure.”
I’m curious, will we see Tony’s apartment again soon on NCIS? –Cheryl
As a matter of fact, yes – in Episode 17, Glasberg says.
And here’s another question from TVLine:
Question: Michael Weatherly has made a few statements recently which indicate that Cote de Pablo may return to NCIS full-time. What can you tell us about this? —Anne
Ausiello: Weatherly said on the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards, “We miss her every day… and I really hope she comes back.” Period. Cue the “Telephone Game.” That said, it seems that de Pablo wouldn’t be guaranteed the warmest of homecomings. David “Ducky” McCallum recently expressed to DigitalSpy his “frustration and anger that someone should just walk out on us,” adding: “I just don’t understand how a leading lady in a show that’s worldwide, who ostensibly wants to have a career as an actress, suddenly walks away from such a gem and just vanishes a couple of days before we start production.”
Here’s the Digital Spy interview with McCallum mentioned above. You can read an excerpt below, about newcomer Emily Wickersham (Ellie Bishop):
Emily is quite enchanting and a delight to be with and a wonderful actress. She’s also young and inexperienced in many ways, so that leaves a wonderful door for people like Mark Harmon and the directors to teach and encourage and help her so she can grow as an actress.
TV Line also posted this question:
It is time on NCIS for Rule 38: “Your case, your lead.” Will we see Tony DiNozzo in the lead again? –Ann
Cross your fingers, because you just might get something resembling a Tony-centric Season 11 finale. As show boss Gary Glasberg told me at TCA, “I’d really like to focus on and come up with something for the season finale that has a strong Tony element to it – in fact, we’re about to sit down and talk about that.”
Actress Challen Cates will guest star in an upcoming episode of NCIS, in which she will play Faye Gussman, a woman “who runs a guns and ammo show in Virginia.” Check out this interview from Examiner.com. Here’s an excerpt:
What was your favorite part about this role? How about the toughest part?
CHALLEN: It was totally refreshing and satisfying to be a bit of a bad girl for a change. The cast and crew of “NCIS” have been together for eleven years and they still love each other and being on set. They welcomed me with open arms. The toughest part was saying goodbye at the end of the episode.
The potential New Orleans-based spinoff has cast its four main characters, who will first appear in two upcoming NCIS episodes. Scott Bakula has signed on to play NCIS Special Agent Pride, the central character who is “driven by the need to do what’s right and does it all with warmth, passion, strength and humor.” Former JAG actress Zoe McLellan will play Special Agent Brody, “a Midwestern transplant who comes to New Orleans looking for a fresh start and a safe haven to heal old wounds.” CCH Pounder has been cast as Dr Wade, the show’s resident coroner, who is “worldly, intuitive and incredibly connected to Louisiana.” Finally, NCIS Special Agent LaSalle will be portrayed by Lucas Black. The character is a “no-nonsense federal agent who believes in doing what’s right no matter what.”
NCIS: LA
TV Line spoke with Executive Producer Shane Brennan about the relationship between Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah), along with what else is coming up on the show. Here’s an excerpt:
TVLINE | I also understand you’ll be flashing back to Sam and Callen’s first days together, in the Feb. 25 episode.
It’s not a flashback, but more of a “flash story back”…? I don’t think that’s a word. [Laughs] We don’t flash back and see them in that situation, but we discover how they first met. It involved a character called Tuhon, played by Danny Trejo, and an unresolved case. Here we are, six years later, and Tuhon’s back in circulation, back on their radar, and we discover a whole lot more about that character than they ever knew when they first went after him. What we learn is that he has a very close connection to Hetty. So you’ve got Danny Trejo… and Linda Hunt. [Chuckles] And their scenes are fantastic. Danny loves this kind of stuff, because he gets a little… I wouldn’t say “typecast,” but people have an expectation. So it’s great to be able to turn that expectation on its head.
LL Cool J (Sam Hanna) hosted the Grammy Awards on January 26. Here are some photos from the event, as well as the pre-Grammy dinner—click to see each one full-sized:

O’Donnell visited Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show on January 27. You can find several images below, followed by videos of the interview:
Check out this recent interview with Ferrer from the TV addict—here’s an excerpt:
You guys have had a lot of intense scenes on the show, a lot of awesome crime scenes, which scenes stick out to you?
I love the really quiet scenes with Linda Hunt, it’s been implied that we have this long and sort of strange history and that nobody really knows too much about, and when we sit down and have a quiet scene just the two of us it’s always interesting. She’s such a terrific actress, I’m never really entirely sure what she is going to do, I sort of have to be prepared for anything, and she always surprises me. Those are probably some of my favorite scenes, the ones with Linda.
