ADAM: Episode 9 will be a Rossi-centric episode about race relations in the South that will shed light on his early years. And the picture that the episode paints of Rossi isn’t necessarily a flattering one. “You will learn things about him that you never knew and you will question him,” executive producer Erica Messer tells us. “Like, ‘Did he do that? Was he using it as an interrogation technique? Could the Rossi we know and love have done something not OK?'” Hmm, could this have been what drove him to join the Marines?

NCIS

Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo), Mark Harmon (Leroy Jethro Gibbs) and Executive Producer Gary Glasberg spoke to TV Guide about next week’s episode, “Once a Crook”, which features flashbacks to Tony’s past as a street cop in Baltimore. Here’s an excerpt:

TV Guide Magazine: Fans are never more excited than when they hear NCIS is doing a flashback. Will this episode provide psychological insight into Tony?

Weatherly: For me, the most interesting part of this episode was how I didn’t realize until we were shooting the flashback scenes that Tony used to be quite earnest, focused and almost without any defense mechanisms. I’m like, “Oh, this is before. He was a movie buff, but it hadn’t become [a major] part of his personality yet.”

Any plans for Abby to get a new love interest or for her to have a large storyline this season on NCIS? — Laura
“I’m certainly open to it,” says exec producer Gary Glasberg. “I can’t say that we’ve been talking about it right now, but I’m not going to say no. Pauley Perrette is fantastic and can handle anything that’s thrown at her and if the time is right and the opportunity is right and the character is right then we’ll consider it, sure!”

Can you give me any scoop on Palmer’s baby adoption on NCIS? He seemed to be having a hard time in the last episode. Is it going to fall apart? — Gracie
That’s an arc that will continue to play out throughout the season, says Glasberg. “We’ll step away from it from time to time and it’ll resurface, but people should be prepared for a bit of an emotional roller coaster when it comes to that,” he says.

NCIS: LA

Executive Producer Shane Brennan told Entertainment Weekly that Daniela Ruah’s (Kensi Blye) pregnancy will have a minimal impact on upcoming episodes. Here’s an excerpt:

We won’t be referencing the fact that Dani is pregnant on the show at all. And through the magic of television and with great editing and acting and great story lines, the audience won’t even know she’s pregnant.

The cast spoke to E! Online, and they revealed that at least one character may die by the end of season 5. “This season you’re going to see a lot of shockers,” LL Cool J (Sam Hanna) revealed. “We’re going to throw curveballs at people and they definitely aren’t going to see them coming.”

LL Cool J told Zap2It that he didn’t anticipate NCIS: LA’s success from day one:

To say that I knew all along [it would be a hit] would be an absolute lie. I had no idea this show was going to be as successful as it is, and I’m just hopeful that people continue to embrace it, watch it and enjoy it. And hopefully, those people who haven’t watched yet will decide to give us a shot and get into it as well.

Ausiello: It’s time for another round of “Is This Just a Coincidence or Am I Onto Something?” Earlier this week, NCIS: LA EP Shane Brennan told Matt Mitovich that “there’s quite a shocking moment in Episode 10 that throws everything awry, and then for the next eight or so episodes Kensi and Deeks’ relationship is in some serious trouble.” Curiously, it’s also around Episode 10 that the show is introducing a new (possibly recurring) ”physically capable” American female agent, and two Middle Eastern male agents. Now, I ask you: Is this just a coincidence or am I onto something? (Mitovich votes for the latter, theorizing that Kensi will take a very dangerous off-grid assignment in the Middle East that sets up Daniela Ruah’s forthcoming maternity leave.)

ADAM: Executive producer Shane Brennan says he plans to stretch that story out for most of the season, noting that the couple will talk around their feelings rather than dealing with them, which could lead to trouble. “It comes to a head, and it has some pretty devastating consequences,” Brennan teases. “There’s a revelation … about Kensi that is quite shocking.” But before you ask, it has nothing to do with Daniela Ruah’s real-life pregnancy. “I will put to rest any suggestion that Kensi is carrying Deeks’ baby,” Brennan says.

By the 9th or 10th episode, it has some fairly dramatic consequences. And, then we put them both in a situation through the next 8 or so episodes. They are struggling with what happened in the 10th episode and then in the 18th episode there’s this pretty powerful and surprising revelation that changes the course of their relationship in a very, very big way. And, it has nothing to do with Dani [Ruah] being pregnant by the way.
