‘CSI:NY’ Works To Solve 3 Separate Cases in ‘Blood Actually’

Valentine’s Day finds the team investigating three different murders during the penultimate episode of CSI: New York’s ninth season. (Major spoilers after the jump!)

According to CSI Files sources, episode sixteen will be called “Blood Actually”. The team is divided up into groups, trying to solve three cases on Valentine’s Day. Lindsay, Jo and Lovato investigate the death of Theodore, who was hit over the head with a champagne bottle in a hotel room. A man named Kevin confesses to killing Theodore, but he isn’t telling the whole story. There was someone else in the hotel room, and the CSIs need to identify this person and determine if he or she is a witness or suspect.

Meanwhile, Danny works with Hawkes and Adam to figure out if a man named Bernard died of natural causes, or if his death was a homicide. His wife Sandra found his body when she came home, telling the CSIs that he must have left work early to surprise her for Valentine’s Day, which is also their anniversary. Bernard was a large man, and he took insulin to control his diabetes, but he didn’t have any major health problems that would cause him to die so suddenly. However, Sandra does reveal that the doctor wanted Bernard to lose weight, and he was trying. An empty box of sugar free chocolates nearby seems to indicate that he wasn’t sticking to his diet, but Sandra says they have a rule against candy in the house. She didn’t give the chocolates to her husband, and they have no idea where he got them.

Elsewhere, Mac and Flack investigate the death of Jeremy, who was shot in the middle of a crowded outdoor market while heading to meet with his wife, Wendy. The police find Wendy running away from the scene, but she insists that she was only trying to protect herself after she heard gunshots. Mac points out that the couple has been embroiled in a messy divorce, and Wendy says they haven’t spoken in months. Jeremy called and asked to see her in person, but it was her idea to meet at the outdoor market—her husband could be a violent man, and it seemed safer to meet in a public place. There was too much chaos for her to spot the shooter in the crowd.
