‘Dead Air’ & ‘Nine Thirteen’ Official Details

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation returns on Wednesday at 10:00pm ET/PT with “Dead Air”:
The CSIs investigate the demise of a prominent news anchor during a live broadcast.
“Dead Air” marks the directorial debut of Producer Phil Conserva. Co-Executive Producer Joe Pokaski has written four previous episodes of CSI, including “Wild Flowers” from earlier this season.

Alex Carter is reprising his established recurring role as Detective Vartann. Daniel Roebuck was in season six’s “Rashomama”, and he also appeared in the CSI: Miami episode “Getting Axed” during the show’s eighth season. Spencer Grammer previously guest-starred on CSI: New York (“Flash Pop”). Danielle Bisutti was in three episodes of Miami’s tenth and final season, most recently the penultimate episode, “Law & Disorder”. Tom Choi guest-starred in “No Man’s Land” during Miami’s fifth season. The other actors are new to the franchise.
On Friday, CSI: New York investigates a murder tied to a mysterious location in “Nine Thirteen” at 9:00pm ET/PT:
The CSIs investigate when a masked man is found at the bottom of a notorious skyscraper known for its history of mysterious deaths. Meanwhile, on her day off, Jo runs into a stranger with a surprising link to her past.
Executive Producer Pam Veasey is credited as director and writer for “Nine Thirteen”, which marks her first time helming the series. She penned the teleplay based on a story she co-wrote with David Fallon. Veasey has written 38 previous episodes, most recently “Unspoken” from earlier this season. This is Fallon’s first CSI: NY credit.

Natalie Martinez is back as Jamie Lovato. Johann Urb guest-starred in the Miami episode “Stalkerazzi” during the show’s second season. Laura Vandervoort appeared in “Big Shots” during the seventh season of CSI, and Robert Baker was in season four’s “Fur and Loathing”. The other actors are new to the franchise.
“Dead Air” and “Nine Thirteen” begin airing January 16 on CBS.
