The Season 12 Premiere Of ‘CSI’ Shares The Top Ratings Spot
1 min readCSI: Crime Scene Investigation started its twelfth season with a first place finish in overall viewers for “73 Seconds” on Wednesday, September 21. The premiere pulled in 12.59 million viewers in its new timeslot, putting it ahead of the new ABC drama Revenge (10.15 million) and Law & Order: SVU (7.60 million). In the key 18-49 demographic prized by advertisers, Revenge came first with a 3.4 rating/9 share, followed by CSI (3.1/8) and SVU (2.3/6). These numbers may be a far cry from past seasons of CSI, but the premiere earned more than a million more viewers than the season 11 finale back in May, and the demo was up as well. We’ll see in the coming weeks how the crime drama fares in its new timeslot with new leading man Ted Danson (DB Russell).
