One ‘New York’ Villain Promises ‘Nothing For Something’

2 min read

Mac and the team are on the trail of a killer who seduces his victims before ending their lives in the twentieth episode of CSI: New York’s seventh season. (Major spoilers after the jump!)

According to CSI Files sources, “Nothing for Something” opens in a park, where a pool of blood has dried on the ground. Time starts to roll in reverse. Thirty-six hours earlier, the blood is wet, and it travels back toward the source: a dead young woman named Patricia. As time continues to wind back, it is revealed that Patricia was dumped on the ground after being rolled up in a comforter in the trunk of a car.

Patricia was in a penthouse apartment before her body was dumped in the park. The man who killed her had her body on the bed. Time continues to go backward, showing that she was strangled after the man stabbed her. Minutes before, the man was feeding Patricia chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne after they made love in the living room of the apartment.

Before they headed to the apartment, Patricia and the man were in an upscale club. They got friendly at the bar after the man walked in and approached her. Time stops going in reverse, and he politely offers to buy Patricia a drink. She is impressed with his manners. She accepts, setting the events in motion that lead up to her dead body being dumped in the park.

Patricia has a stamp on her hand from the Countess Club, so Danny and Jo speak to the bartender. She remembers seeing Patricia two nights before, and she can’t believe the woman is dead. Patricia never paid for her own drinks because she waited for men to buy them for her. The man who left with her was really bold. He came right out and said he bought Patricia a drink because it was the first step toward getting her to sleep with him. Despite his arrogant words, Patricia was intrigued by the man. She played along with his game, and it got her killed.

When the team finally locates the penthouse apartment where Patricia was killed, they discover that someone has already processed the scene. This leads them to a former cop turned private investigator, who is searching for a missing woman. Patricia is not the killer’s first victim, and she may not be his last. Meanwhile, Jo has to confront her fear of heights, and Mac’s wallet goes missing.
