‘Criminal Minds’ Will Cast 2 New Series Regulars

As CSI Files reported earlier this month, original Criminal Minds cast member Thomas Gibson (Aaron Hotchner) was fired following an on-set altercation with a writer-producer. Now, TV Line has revealed the show is planning to add two new series regulars in the wake of Gibson’s dismissal, including one who will take over as team leader. The other character remains a mystery for now, and there’s no additional information to share at this time.

These two characters are in addition to newcomer Adam Rodriguez (Luke Alvez), who was added to the cast back in June, following the departure of original cast member Shemar Moore (Derek Morgan). Additionally, Aisha Tyler (Dr Tara Lewis) was upgraded to a series regular for season 12, and former cast member Paget Brewster is reprising her role as Emily Prentiss on a recurring basis during the upcoming season.
