Cook Is Expecting, & Hewitt’s Pregnancy Will Be Written Into ‘Criminal Minds’
2 min readCongratulations to Criminal Minds actress AJ Cook (JJ Jareau), who announced on Instagram earlier this week that she’s expecting her second child with husband Nathan Andersen. Andersen also posted a photo on Instagram, revealing that they’re going to have another little boy.
As CSI Files previously reported, Cook’s costar Jennifer Love Hewitt (Kate Callahan) is also expecting her second child with husband Brian Hallisay. Executive Producer Erica Messer told TV Guide that Hewitt’s pregnancy will be written into the show, starting with the episode airing March 11. There is no word yet on whether Minds will write in Cook’s pregnancy as well.

According to TV Guide, Kate will reveal in next week’s episode that she and her husband Chris (Greg Grunberg) are having a child. Messer said this will be a period of adjustment for Kate’s niece Meg (Hailey Sole), whom the couple have raised since she was a baby:
She’s been acting out a little bit, and we reveal … it’s because Kate is gonna have a baby. The fact that she and Chris decide to have a baby rocks Meg a little bit. Even though she’s been raised by amazing people, there’s an underlying abandonment since her parents were killed when she was very young. She’s trying to deal with that and being 13 and navigate the world and see her place in it.
Regarding Hewitt’s pregnancy, a source gave this quote to E! Online at the end of January:
They are loving being a family and excited about expanding. Jennifer knows having two children under two is going to be a lot of work, but she loves the idea of having her kids be close in age. Being a mom is the most important thing to her and she’s thrilled about being pregnant again.
