‘CSI’ Searches For An Incarcerated Killer In ‘Let’s Make A Deal’

2 min read

The CSIs head to the county jail to investigate the death of an inmate, in the ninth episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’s fifteenth season. (Major spoilers after the jump!)

According to CSI Files sources, “Let’s Make a Deal” opens at the Clark County Detention Center. A group of inmates is waiting in a line to receive flu shots, but Denny Morrison is fidgeting. He hates needles, and when the doctor raises the needle to give Denny his injection, the man freaks out and shoves another inmate toward the nearby guard. He uses the moment of distraction to grab the guard’s pepper spray, spraying the man in the face before running off. The guard radios for backup while Denny hurries down the corridor and around a corner. When he encounters another line of inmates, he starts shooting the pepper spray toward them.

While the other inmates are coughing, Denny careens into a man named Pete. Pete shoves him, and Denny responds by punching him in the face. Still freaked out, Denny runs off again, pushing through the door into the laundry room. The inmates inside take one look at the pepper spray he’s waving around and retreat, and Denny backs himself into a corner and puts a laundry cart between himself and anyone trying to approach.

An extraction team moves into the laundry room, guards wearing helmets with face guards, vests and gloves. Denny shoves the laundry cart toward them and tries to run again, but he trips near an industrial sink and slams into a cabinet. The door opens—and a dead inmate falls out. Denny freaks out as Bruce Grady’s lifeless body lands on top of him, and the guards pull him from beneath the corpse to handcuff him.

Nick and DB head to the jail, turning in their guns and badges for visitor IDs. They follow the homicide detective, Carl Brenner, along the hallway toward the laundry room. They pass the chaos Denny caused on their way, eventually arriving where Bruce’s body fell to the floor. Bruce was an older man, awaiting trial for armed robbery, but he was already dying from cirrhosis of the liver. He was assigned to a medical module three floors up, and they don’t know how he ended up in the laundry room with a stab wound. When asked if Bruce had any enemies, Detective Brenner tells them all of the County inmates do—they have 2,000 incarcerated suspects.

“Let’s Make a Deal” is expected to air December 7 on CBS.
