The CSIs investigate the cyber-related murder of a prominent casino owner’s wife and receive help from the FBI’s Cyber Crime Division.
“Kitty” was directed by Eagle Egilsson, who has three previous credits for CSI; he most recently helmed “Boston Brakes” earlier this year. The pilot for the potential spinoff was co-written by CSI creators Carol Mendelsohn, Anthony Zuiker and Ann Donahue. Mendelsohn has 51 previous writing credits (“CSI on Fire”), Zuiker has 31 (“Unleashed”), and Donahue has 18 (“Lady Heather’s Box”).

Marc Vann returns as Conrad Ecklie, and Larry Sullivan is back as Officer Akers. Patricia Arquette is introduced as Avery Ryan, the lead for the potential spinoff. Chad Michael Collins previously appeared on CSI: New York (“Damned if You Do”) and CSI: Miami (“Caged”). Matt Bushell has also been on CSI: NY (“Rain”) and Miami (“Tunnel Vision”). Ness Bautista was in the Miami episode “Rio” during the show’s fifth season, and Torrey DeVitto was in season six’s “You May Now Kill the Bride”.
