The first episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’s fourteenth season, “The Devil and DB Russell”, pulled in a series low 8.96 million viewers at 10:00pm on September 25. This is down more than half a million from last season’s finale, and it put the crime drama behind the second hour of the Law & Order: SVU premiere (9.94 million at 10:00pm); Nashville came third for the hour with 6.62 million. In the key demo, CSI earned a 2.1/6, which tied with Nashville and put both shows behind SVU (2.9/8). This score is slightly higher than last season’s finale, but it is one of the show’s lowest demo scores.
