The ‘CSI’ Franchise Generated $481 Million In Europe During 2012
1 min readAccording to Digital TV Research, all three members of the CSI franchise were among the top five most-valuable imported drama series in Europe during 2012. NCIS was the number one programme, generating $205 million for European broadcasters. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation came in second with $188 million, followed by CSI: Miami with $168.4 million. Criminal Minds was fourth ($161.8 million), and CSI: New York earned fifth place with $124.6 million. Out of the top five, all but Criminal Minds are distributed by CBS Studios International (CBSSI); in total, CBSSI was Europe’s highest ranking distributor in 2012, generating $926 million from all of the imported drama series that are listed in the top 100.
