Ward Celebrates 10 Years With Hope Village
1 min readCSI: New York’s leading lady Sela Ward (Jo Danville) started Hope Village in Meridian, Mississippi in 2002 to care for children who have been neglected and abused. Hope Village has an emergency shelter, residential group home and transitional program. They serve more than 200 kids every year, helping more than 2,000 children in the past ten years. “The benefits of providing a continuum of care on one campus are crucial to breaking the effects of the negligence and abuse our children have experienced as well as the inconsistency in their education and social interactions,” Ward said in a press release. “Kids who have been removed from their homes need tremendous support which Hope Village provides.”
On Saturday, April 20, Hope Village will celebrate its first decade with a celebrity gala at the MSU Riley Center in Meridian. This marks Ward’s largest fundraising event for the organization so far, and will include a dinner, live auction and a live performance by LeAnn Rimes. Ward’s CSI: NY costars Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor), Carmine Giovinazzo (Danny Messer), Hill Harper (Dr Sheldon Hawkes), AJ Buckley (Adam Ross), and Robert Joy (Dr Sid Hammerback) are scheduled to be on hand at the event.
