‘CSI’ Casts David Phillips’ Wife

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation fans will soon meet David Phillips’ (David Berman) wife with the addition of a daytime TV actress, CSI Files has learned exclusively.

Sources confirm to CSI Files that Young and the Restless star Marcy Rylan has been tapped to portray Super Dave’s loving wife in this season’s seventeenth episode, titled “Death of the Class.” In a season that continues to put the spotlight on the characters’ personal lives, David Phillips finds himself in the focus of the episode: At his wife’s urging, David reluctantly attends his high school reunion — which becomes a crime scene when a diva former high school queen is found dead in a back room. Mrs. Phillips may not be the only person connected to Phillips to appear–sources reveal that a baby may be somehow involved in the installment. Tom Mularz wrote the episode with Alec Smight attached as director.

Over the course of CSI‘s history, Phillips has evolved from a socially awkward assistant coroner who crushed on Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) to a professional confident with his work. His wife has been mentioned since Season Seven, first making mention in “Toe Tags” that the wedding plans were in motion. “Death of the Class” will air this March.
