Sinise Named Honorary Chief
1 min readIn recognition of his work to support the men and women of the United States military, Gary Sinise (CSI: New York’s Mac Taylor) was named an honorary chief petty officer during a ceremony on Friday, August 24. The event took place at the United States Navy Memorial and Naval Heritage Center in Washington, DC. Fleet Master Chief(AW/NAC) Michael D Stevens presented Sinise with his chief’s cover on behalf of Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy(MCPON)(SS/SW) Rick D West.
“What a humbling day it is for me to receive this,” Sinise said. “I’m truly touched by it. I don’t take it for granted, and I don’t take it lightly.” He added, “I’m always amazed and humbled at the skill and dedication of the men and women who serve in our Navy …God bless you all for doing what you do in defense of our freedom all around the world.”
