‘Clean Sweep’ & ‘Friendly Fire’ Official Details
2 min readThe franchise kicks off the new year with two new episodes, featuring a dead cage fighter and a genius killed with a unique weapon. Official plot details and cast lists can be found after the jump.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will air a repeat of “Bittersweet” from earlier this season on Wednesday at 10:00pm ET/PT. After decomposing body parts were found inside a piece of art, the team launched an investigation with ties to an old case.
On Friday, CSI: New York returns from the winter hiatus with “Clean Sweep” at 9:00pm ET/PT:
A charred body turns into a hot mess for the CSIs when it appears a cage fighter has been murdered by his stalker.
David Von Ancken directed seven previous episodes of New York, most recently the season six premiere “Epilogue”. Producer Adam Targum has five writing credits for the series, including this season’s “Cavallino Rampante”.

Alex Nesic was in the CSI: Miami episode “Cop Killer” during the show’s third season. Laura Breckenridge guest-starred in the CSI episode “Blood Moon” during season eleven. The other actors are new to the franchise.
CSI: Miami investigates the death of a billionaire in “Friendly Fire” on Sunday at 10:00pm ET/PT:
An eccentric genius is assassinated with the most unique weapon the CSIs have ever seen.
Producer and director Sam Hill has helmed 34 previous episodes of Miami, including “Dead Ringer” earlier this season. “Friendly Fire” was penned by Co-Producer Tamara Jaron and Greg Bassenian. Jaron has 11 previous writing credits, most recently “Dead Ringer”; Bassenian wrote two episodes, including this season’s “Sinner Takes All”.

Christian Clemenson, Wes Ramsey and Taylor Cole are reprising established recurring roles. Leonard Roberts played a different character in season two’s “Complications”, and he also appeared in the CSI episode “Wild Life” during season eleven.
The repeat of “Bittersweet”, “Clean Sweep” and “Friendly Fire” begin airing January 4 on CBS.

I believe David Gallagher appears one episode of CSI: Miami (Season 6; Episode 1) as Rick Bates. So I believe he wasn’t exactly new to the franchise… unless it’s only to CSI: NY. Just thought to let you know.
Yeah, I was a bit confused about how I should handle that one – IMDb listed a *different* David Gallagher as the one appearing in this episode when I checked last night. I just left the link out in the episode guide, and I’ll wait until the episode airs to double check if it’s the DG you’re talking about. My guess is that it will be, but I didn’t want to assume…
