‘CSI:NY’ Is A Pair Of ‘Golden Handcuffs’ For Harper

1 min read

CSI: New York actor Hill Harper enjoys playing Dr Sheldon Hawkes, and he’s hopeful that his character’s love life will be revisited during season eight; however, working on a hit crime drama comes with certain limitations.

Toward the end of season seven, Hawkes started dating nurse Camille Jordanson (Lesley-Ann Brandt, “Food For Thought”), and Harper was excited about the storyline. “The hope is she’ll come back this year,” he told the LA Times. “Now she was getting me into trouble at the end of last season, but it was fun trouble because Dr Sheldon Hawkes had to loosen up a little bit. All work and no play make any forensic pathologist a dull boy.”

Being a part of the New York cast is an interesting situation for Harper, who described the show as a pair of “golden handcuffs.” He explained that he loves the show and wants to stick around until the very end, but being tied down to one show prevents him from being able to take film or Broadway roles that might become available. He added, “But here’s the interesting paradox: Perhaps but for my being on CSI: NY, those opportunities would never have presented themselves. That’s why you refer to them as golden handcuffs, because they’re really wonderful handcuffs to have.”
