(Spoilers after the jump!)
As CSI Files previously reported, the season eight premiere of New York will recognize the ten year anniversary of September 11th. Mac’s wife Claire will be shown in flashbacks, and TV Guide reports that Jaime Ray Newman (General Hospital, Eastwick) has been cast to play her. “We’re taking all of our characters back to that day,” executive producer Pam Veasey revealed. “You get to see them together. You see why Claire loved Mac, and why Mac loved her.”
In other casting news, Hellcats actress Aly Michalka will appear in the second episode of CSI: NY’s eighth season. According to Entertainment Weekly, Michalka will play a rocker named Miranda. The character gets questioned by the CSIs after her boyfriend is murdered.
Meanwhile, things will change for Danny and Lindsay in the wake of Danny’s promotion. In the season seven finale, “Exit Strategy”, it was revealed that Danny passed his Sergeant’s exam, and the new season will find him supervising uniformed officers instead of working in the lab with his wife. As TV Line reports, the second episode of the season will address how the couple is adapting to the change.
