Sinise Vows To Continue Supporting US Troops

1 min read

Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) has been able to take time away from his job on CSI: New York to honor the men and women in the United States military, and he doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon. “I’ve been blessed to have a good television show that’s been very supportive, but it’s not going to last forever,” the actor told 630 WMAL News in Washington, DC. He added, “I want to make sure that I can keep supporting our troops and our first responders and their families to the same degree that I’m doing now even if I don’t have a job.”

One way that Sinise honors the troops is by giving concerts as part of the Lt Dan Band. This past Friday, May 27, Sinise and the Lt Dan Band performed in front of a large crowd at a benefit to raise money for a wounded US Marine. Corporal Todd Nicely lost his arms and legs in an IED explosion a year ago in Afghanistan, and the money raised at the concert will be used to build a home that is specially equipped to accommodate the 26-year-old’s needs. You can find a video about the concert embedded after the jump (please note that the video begins automatically):
