Helgenberger Is ‘Tired’ Of ‘CSI’, Petersen May Visit Again
1 min readMarg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) may choose to leave CSI: Crime Scene Investigation after season 11 is over, but her exit could provide a treat for longtime fans.
CSI was able to keep Helgenberger on board during season 11 by giving her a reduced role, which offered the actress a chance to travel. However, all good things must come to an end. “I think it’s time to move on. I’m tired of the show,” Helgeberger told TV Magazine (translated by Angela from Margamania) with a laugh. “And being stuck in the studios ten months a year, it’s hard to find room for a role in a film… Anyway, I would rather be with my family and my friends.”
Nothing has been finalized yet, but if Helgenberger does decide to leave the series, her departure may come with a silver lining for longtime viewers. “If I leave, I’d like my character Catherine to have a nice exit. Otherwise, it would be unfair to the fans and to me,” she explained. “Besides, William Petersen told me during a dinner with his wife, my new boyfriend and I, that [Gil] Grissom could come back if I need help in leaving the show in style! Not bad, huh?”
