This week’s episode of New York, “Identity Crisis”, delves into personal territory for Jo. She finds out that Ellie was planning to visit her biological mother in Connecticut. “She doesn’t really have all of the information,” Ward told TV Guide. Jo brought Ellie into her family after putting the girl’s biological mother in jail. “It’s a very touching episode where I talk to her and explain to her how she was adopted and what the circumstances were.”
CSI: NY is establishing a stronger, more trusting relationship between Jo and Mac as season nine progresses. “There is one scene where Mac’s vulnerability is revealed with Jo, which is very poignant,” Ward explained. “He’s really at a crossroads of does he continue this work or not as a detective?” She added that he might be “done” due to something traumatic that happens to him.
