CBS Receives WGA & Golden Globe Nominations
2 min readSeveral CBS series received nominations for the upcoming 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards and the 2011 Writers Guild Awards.
Three CBS series are represented in the nominations for the Golden Globe Awards. The Good Wife was nominated in the “Best Television Series – Drama” category, and star Julianna Margulies is up for the “Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series – Drama” category. The Big Bang Theory is up for “Best Television Series – Comedy Or Musical”, and Jim Parsons is nominated for “Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series – Comedy Or Musical”. Good Wife actor Chris Noth is in the “Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television” category along with Scott Caan from the freshman CBS series Hawaii Five-0. The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast live on NBC Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 5:00-8:00pm PST/8:00-11:00pm EST.
The Writers Guild of America nominated Anne de Vega in the “On-Air Promotion (Radio or Television)” category for her work on the CSI Promos. The Good Wife received a nomination in the “Episodic Drama – any length – one airing time” category for the episode “Boom”, which was written by Ted Humphrey. The “Daytime Serials” category includes CBS’s As the World Turns. The 2011 Writers Guild Awards will take place on February 5, 2011.
