Check Out The List Of ‘People’s Choice’ Nominees
2 min readNone of the CSI series or actors made the final list of nominees for the upcoming People’s Choice Awards 2011, but CBS is represented in multiple categories.
The awards show will air Wednesday, January 5, 2011 on CBS, and the ceremony will be hosted by Queen Latifah. Fans cast more than 35 million votes to determine this year’s nominees. Voting for the winners will run now through December 7, 2010, with two exceptions: “Favorite New TV Drama” and “Favorite New TV Comedy” will remain open for voting until the night of the ceremony.
CBS’s The Good Wife is nominated for “Favorite TV Drama”, and the show’s star Julianna Margulies is up for “Favorite TV Drama Actress”. The network is represented three times in the “Favorite TV Comedy” category with How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) and Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) are nominated in the “Favorite TV Comedy Actor” category, and Harris’s costar Alyson Hannigan is nominated for “Favorite TV Comedy Actress”. Carrie Underwood got a “Favorite TV Guest Star” nod for her role on How I Met Your Mother. Criminal Minds and NCIS are in the “Favorite TV Crime Drama” category.
In the new “Favorite TV Crime Fighter” category chosen by fans, Mark Harmon (NCIS) and Simon Baker (The Mentalist) made the list of nominees. Another category fans chose was “Favorite TV Family”, and the Harpers from Two and a Half Men got nominated. Speaking of new, several CBS series made the final list for “Favorite New TV Comedy” and “Favorite New TV Drama”. $#*! My Dad Says and Mike & Molly are in the comedy category. Blue Bloods is nominated for new drama along with former CSI: New York executive producer Peter Lenkov’s series Hawaii Five-0 and The Defenders, which is helmed by CSI: Crime Scene Investigation executive producer Carol Mendelsohn.
