Sinise: It’ll Be One Of Our Best Seasons Ever
2 min readCSI: New York’s leading man Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) is confident about the show’s big move to Friday nights for the upcoming seventh season. (Minor spoilers after the jump!)
The season premiere, “The 34th Floor”, airs this Friday, September 24 at 9:00pm ET/PT. New York aired on Wednesday nights for its first six seasons, but Sinise feels good about the new timeslot. “I think CBS has a lot of faith in the show, so moving us from Wednesday to Friday night is fine,” he told Reuters. “They want to make room for some new shows but they know we’re very strong.”
The new night is not the only change in store for CSI: NY. “The big news is Sela Ward [Jo Danville] joining,” Sinise said. “She’s terrific and she’s slid into the show very easily, and our focus is on introducing her character. And we have some great guest stars appearing, like Edward James Olmos. The writers have some great stories, so I feel it’ll be one of our best seasons ever.”
Sinise is similar to Mac Taylor in some respects. “He’s got a lot of integrity and I like to think we share that,” the actor explained. “He’s honorable and straightforward, and though he’s different from me in many ways, I love playing him as he’s a great leader and mentor. I also like the military aspect, as I’ve met a lot of great leaders in the services.”
