A Serial Killer Will Return To ‘CSI’ At Mid-Season
1 min readExecutive Producer Carol Mendelsohn promises that CSI: Crime Scene Investigation fans have not seen the last of a certain notorious criminal. (Spoilers after the jump!)
At the end of season ten, Dr Ray Langston (Laurence Fishburne) was stabbed by the “Dick and Jane” serial killer Nate Haskell (Bill Irwin). This week’s season premiere, “Shock Waves”, will deal with the aftermath of Langston’s attack. “The traumatic events of the finale will [play out] through the beginning episodes,” Mendelsohn revealed to TV Guide. Haskell will be back for four more episodes over the course of season eleven. “We’ll lock him in, but he’ll return mid-season to Vegas to be charged with the crime that he committed on Dr Langston,” Mendelsohn said.
CSI can bring back Haskell, but the series won’t be able to prevent one character from leaving after season eleven: Catherine Willows. Leading lady Marg Helgenberger previously revealed that she would be saying goodbye to the series after appearing in 19 episodes this season—but Mendelsohn isn’t ready to let go just yet. “I respect Marg’s decision [to leave],” the showrunner explained, “but I will fight her until the end to keep her at CSI.”
