Kanakaredes Is ‘Passionately Pink For The Cure’
2 min readCSI: New York‘s leading lady Melina Kanakaredes (Stella Bonasera) has joined the “Passionately Pink” partnership between Hanes® and Susan G Komen for the Cure®.
Hanes is the Official T-shirt of the Komen Race for the Cure Series, and this year it will reprise its role as the Official Apparel Sponsor of the Passionately Pink for the Cure® fundraising program. Kanakaredes has designed three t-shirts for the “pink collection” to help fight breast cancer and increase awareness. “I am thrilled to join Hanes and Susan G Komen for the Cure to raise funds and awareness about breast cancer,” Kanakaredes said in a press release. “Like so many, I have been affected by the disease through the loss of family members and dear friends. I was inspired to join this fight to celebrate survivors and to honor the memory of those we have lost, and it is my sincere hope that my inspiration is evident in the Hanes T-shirts I have designed.”
“We know that countless numbers of people have been touched by breast cancer in some way,” said Hanes Senior Vice President Sidney Falken. “At Hanes, we strive to provide comfort in whatever way we can—and in this case it is by lending our support to a cause the Hanes consumer cares so deeply about. We are honored to continue the fight with Susan G Komen for the Cure and are proud to work alongside Melina Kanakaredes to spread the word.”
Select items from the “pink collection” are already available in stores, and the full collection (including Kanakaredes t-shirt designs) will be available in the fall. Kanakaredes will also star in several upcoming Susan G Komen for the Cure public service announcements, and she will appear in a print ad during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. You can visit the Hanes Pink website to learn more about the campaign and even design your own “Passionately Pink” t-shirt.
