A ‘Big Secret’ Comes To Light On ‘New York’

2 min read

Lost actor Harold Perrineau guest-stars in this week’s CSI: New York episode “Redemptio” as a convict with a confession to make. (Minor spoilers after the jump!)

Dr Sheldon Hawkes (Hill Harper) is called to witness the execution of Perrineau’s character, Reggie Tifford, who has a secret to reveal to the CSI before he dies. Unfortunately for Hawkes, he’s in the wrong place at the wrong time as a prison riot erupts, and he is trapped inside—along with serial killer Shane Casey (Edward Furlong, “Raising Shane”). “It’s life or death—this could be my last episode,” Harper teased to TV Guide Magazine.

What Reggie has to tell Hawkes is “a pretty big secret”, Harper said, and it will explain why his character does not have much of a life outside of his job. Revealing the truth to Hawkes is the last thing Reggie needs to do before his execution. “He’s pretty prepared to die for his crime,” Perrineau explained. “You’d think he’s a homicidal maniac, but he’s a guy who had a really bad drug problem and he’s about to pay for all of the mistakes he has made.”

The actor was glad to get a chance to work alongside Harper on New York. “It was a lot of fun,” he said. “I’ve been waiting to work with Hill for a long time—we’ve known each other for years and have been up against each other for a lot of different things, so it was fantastic to get a chance to work with him.”

“Redemptio” airs Wednesday, April 14 at 10:00pm ET/PT. In the meantime, be sure to check out this extended preview for the episode.
