Tassler: Fishburne Has Assimilated Into The Ensemble

At the Winter Press Tour, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler shared that Laurence Fishburne‘s character Dr Ray Langston is finally finding his place on the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation team.

Langston was introduced during the show’s ninth season, and now that the show is halfway through season ten, audiences feel that the character “has arrived, he is settled, and he is part of the team,” Tassler explained. She added, “He just fits now with the group and we’re able to peel back the layers of who this man is and we’re now going to get more into the back story.”

“You can’t deny that Fishburne is a powerful actor and a force to be reckoned with,” Tassler continued. “He’s assimilated more into the ensemble. Audiences have found that as he is more comfortable with his team, his team is more comfortable with him, and the show is able to build more intimacy with the relationships.”

“As he’s settled in and become part of the team, you’ve seen more humor,” Tassler said. “And as we look forward to the episodes in the second half of the season, you’re going to find more irreverence and more iconic stories we’ve done in the past and turn the whole Vegas experience on its ears.”
