A Meth Lab Explosion Rocks ‘Miami’
2 min readThis week’s episode of CSI: Miami, “Count Me Out”, finds several members of the team in danger when a building explodes while they are inside. Spoilers and embedded video after the jump!
In the episode, criminals rig up a series of meth labs with explosives. These booby traps are meant to prevent the Miami-Dade Police Department from finding any evidence of their activities. Unfortunately for Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and his team, they don’t find out about the explosives until Ryan Wolfe (Jonathan Togo) and Natalia Boa Vista (Eva La Rue) are trapped inside one of the labs when it detonates.
“In an earlier sequence, we find the debris of another explosion — a clock and a timing device. So we realize they’re possibly all booby trapped. I get to this one a little bit late, but we’re able to extract Natalia from the situation,” Caruso revealed. Togo added that this episode marks “the fourth episode in my tenure here at CSI: Miami that I’ve been blown up.”
Although the characters make it out alive after the lab explodes, one member of the team will have lasting effects from the event. “I end up having some residual issues after the explosion but I’m not sure how those are going to play out yet,” La Rue explained. “Hopefully, it’s not that I’m addicted to meth, but they don’t really tell us. What I do know is it’s an equilibrium issue.”
