CSI:NY’s Hill Harper, who plays smart and sexy medical examiner turned crime scene investigator Dr. Sheldon Hawkes, has been cast in the upcoming film A Good Man Is Hard to Find.

Harper, cast in the role of Damion Marshall, will star alongside Golden Brooks (Girlfriends), Darrin Dewitt Henson (Stomp the Yard), Melissa De Sousa (One on One) and R&B singer Deborah Cox.

The film, to be shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is about three women who each undergo romantic and spiritual crises. It is based on the 1990s gospel stage play. The stage play logged more than 1,500 performances from 1991-1996.

The film is produced by Codeblack Entertainment in the first project under its deal with 20th Century Fox’s recently launched faith-based label FoxFaith. FoxFaith plans to release up to a dozen films a year that target audiences in the growing Christian marketplace.

“This material is a bulls-eye for the faith-based African-American market, and it comes with the bonus of having a built-in audience after its tremendous success as a stage play,” says Jeff Clanagan, president and CEO of CodeBlack.
