One girl has DNA times three.

Corinne Marrinan won a Best Documentary, Short Subject Oscar in 2006 for A Note of Triumph: The Golden Age of Norman Corwin. Marrinan has been with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation since the show started in 2000, and she has performed various jobs during that time. After winning the Oscar, she thought, "I have this great thing and I don't know what to do with it. I don't know how to use it to my advantage." Several producers suggested that she get into writing, and that led to her becoming a staff writer for CSI and penning tonight's episode, "Let It Bleed".

"It's very much a medical mystery as to why does this girl have three different types of blood in her body, two of which are male?" Marrinan told the Times Herald-Record. The victim will be played by 19-year-old Alexandra Willers, a college student from the University of Laverne in California. "I'm a big part of the story, but it's not like a lead or anything," the actress told The Ledger.

"Being dead is hard," she said. "I was covered with glass in a really uncomfortable position." Willers' character first shows up as a corpse in a dumpster, but she filmed other scenes to be shown throughout the episode as the CSIs uncover the truth behind her death. Willers needed some help with one scene, much to the amusement of the show's crew. "The script called for me to snort cocaine and then have a convulsion," she said, "and I had to get a little instruction on that."
