The franchise offers two winning new episodes, but basketball on Thursday can't compete.
CSI: Miami came out on top Monday with 13.46 million overall viewers and a 4.0 rating/11 share in the 18-49 demographic prized by advertisers. The third week of new ABC drama Castle was second with 9.81 million viewers and 2.7/7, and Medium rounded out the hour with 6.56 million viewers and 2.2/6.
On Wednesday, CSI: New York beat the combination by pulling in 12.60 million overall viewers and 3.0/8 in the key demo. Next was Law and Order with 7.25 million viewers and 2.2/6, and Life on Mars came in third with 5.67 million and 2.1/6.
Day one of the 2009 NCAA Basketball: Regional Semi-Finals preempted CSI: Crime Scene Investigation on Thursday. The sports event pulled in 10.12 million viewers during primetime and earned a 3.5/9 in the 18-49 demo. These ratings put it in third place for the night.
