  • Hill Harper will be at the 11th annual Baltimore Book Festival this weekend to participate in readings, talks and panel discussions. For further information and a schedule, visit Baltimore Book Festival.

  • Josh Berman, formerly of CSI and currently the executive producer of the new series Vanished, spoke with the Writers Guild of America, West about his new show, what he learned from CSI and writing for television. To read more, visit Writers Guild of America, West.

  • Dr. Gary Telgenhoff, deputy medical examiner at the Clark County Coroner's Office in Las Vegas and consultant to CSI, recently brought humor, information and interesting facts to a Victoria College presentation on Lyceum. To find out more, read The Victoria Advocate.

  • CBS has formed a new division called CBS Television Group. The new division combines CBS' syndication distribution assets into one group. The entity will include the CBS Paramount Domestic Television, King World and Paramount International Television. The new division unites CBS groups that distribute shows like CSI.   • The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Law recently held a symposium titled "The CSI Effect on Criminal Prosecutions: Truth or Fiction," exploring whether mass entertainment has an effect on the way cases play out at trial.   • CSI star Marg Helgenberger has been honored with her own street in her hometown of North Bend, Nebraska. Local officials renamed Locust Street for the star, now calling it Helgenberger Avenue. See Pr Inside for more information.

  • According to TV Week, CSI:Miami was the top-rated drama in syndication for the week ending September 17th. It outperformed it's closest competition, Alias, by 92 percent!

  • A new fantasy camp called Hellscenes, Inc. has been created. It allows people the opportunity to learn what's behind a homicide investigation. Each Hellscenes investigator will learn to secure a crime scene, process, gather and analyze evidence, develop a witness list and suspects and conduct interviews, dust for fingerprints, cast tire and shoe impressions, perform surveillance and finally arrest the prime suspect.   • Several stars associated with the CSI franchise will appear at London Expo to meet with fans and sign autographs. Stars with credits from any of the CSI shows scheduled to appear include Joe Flanigan, Wallace Langham, Rudolph Martin, David Berman, Botti Bliss, Glenn Morshower and Louis Lombardi.
