CBS had a stronghold on the ratings charts last week with a whopping eight out of ten shows in the top ten, led by CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
According to E! Online, the drama behind the scenes at CSI, from the firing of stars Jorja Fox and George Eads (story), to their subsequent rehiring a week later (story), (story), to reports of William Petersen's health troubles (story), didn't hurt the number one drama at all. CSI pulled in 13.1 million viewers and took the top slot for the week of July 19th-25th.
CSI: Miami took the third space slot with 11.5 million viewers. In second place was CSI's leadout show, Without a Trace, with 12.6 million viewers. The Amazing Race and Two and a Half Men rounded out the top five in slots four and five, respectively.
The only two non-CBS shows to place in the top ten were two Law & Order shows. The original Law & Order took the seventh spot with 10.63 million viewers, while its first spinoff, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit was in the eight slot with 9.9 million viewers.
