It's a star for a star.
CSI Files previously reported that CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's William Petersen (Gil Grissom) would be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The actor will get his star on February 3, at 11:30am. It will be located by the famous Musso & Frank Grill, which first opened in 1919. Petersen will have the 2,379th star on the Walk of Fame.
Petersen is not the only big name from television to receive a star this year. Chuck Lorre, executive producer and writer for the CBS comedy Two and a Half Men (who co-wrote the CSI episode "Two and a Half Deaths"), will also be honored. Mark Burnett (The Apprentice), Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives), Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) and John Stamos (ER) were also chosen for 2009.
In addition to television stars, the Walk of Fame will add individuals from film, recording and radio. Tinkerbell, Tim Burton, Leslie Caron, Cameron Diaz, Robert Downey, Jr, Charles Durning, Ralph Fiennes, Hugh Jackman, Sir Ben Kingsley and William H. Macy were picked in the motion picture category. In the area of music, Kenny “Baby Face” Edmonds, Dave Koz, The Miracles, Doug Morris, RUSH, Shakira and The Village People will be honored, and Bill Handel and Harry Shearer will receive stars for radio.
The original information about when Petersen will receive his star is courtesy of CBS. The list of 2009 Walk of Fame recipients is from here.
