Ubi Soft Entertainment last week announced it will be producing a second CSI: Crime Scene Investigation computer game.

"We're working with all the people that helped make the first game so good, including 369 Interactive, Max Allan Collins, Daniel Holstein, and the production staff of the CSI TV show," executive producer Tony Van told GameSpot.

The original CSI game was released in March this year. Casting the player as a rookie CSI, the game featured five cases to investigate alongside members of the Las Vegas crime lab. William Petersen (Gil Grissom), Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) and the rest of the team provided their voices, and Tony Van said Ubi Soft anticipates all eight cast members will reprise their television roles in the sequel.

In his recent Q&A with CSI Files readers, award-winning crime writer Max Allan Collins spoke of his involvement with the second CSI game (story). "I have a more active role, consulting on the stories themselves," he said, "last time, they brought me in to write the dialogue, though I did repair some plot holes, too."

Returning technical adviser Daniel Holstein, a real-life Las Vegas crime scene analyst, was the original inspiration for the character of Gil Grissom.

There are currently no details on the game's specifications or a tentative release date. The original news can be found at GameSpot.
