Kim Delaney Rejoins 'NYPD Blue'

Kim Delaney (Megan Donner) is returning to NYPD Blue, the show she starred in during its first six years.

Delaney was originally presented as the female lead of CSI: Miami, but left after only ten episodes. She was intended to be a foil to David Caruso, but the two "never developed the needed chemistry" according to Zap2it. The final episode she appeared in was 'A Horrible Mind', repeating next Monday.

The actress had been the odd one out since the beginning of CSI: Miami - although she was present in the official pilot, she did not appear in the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode that first introduced the CSI: Miami characters.

With her CSI: Miami stint over, Delaney will be able to return with her character of Diane Russel to NYPD Blue during the May sweeps. She had originally left this show to star in the drama series Philly, but that was cancelled after its first half year.
