Horatio again faces the Mala Noche when two people are killed at a dance party in the CSI: Miami episode "Silencer."
According to CSI Files sources, the episode takes us to a sizzling party, right in the middle of the day, in which couples are dancing to the lively Latin beat. Claire Trinner stands to the side to watch, her body swaying to the tempo, unaware of Jose Serrano, who is creeping up behind her. If Jose has ulterior motives for being there we'll never find out, and though no one around them hears the gunshots, they can't ignore the gunshot wounds on Jose and Claire as they hit the floor.
The CSIs obtain a picture from one of the shooters, more specifically, a picture of the tattoo on his arm. The tattoo database back at the lab reveals the shooter is Carlos Mojica, in the system for his ties to the Mala Noche gang. The Mala Noche were first introduced in the episode "From The Grave," in which they were responsible for killing a prisoner and raping a young woman. In the same episode, a member of the gang revealed the Mala Noche had put a hit on Horatio.
Now, Horatio and Delko interrogate Carlos, who willingly admits the Mala Noche are responsible for Jose's death. Carlos also takes responsibility for Claire's death. Horatio is surprised Carlos knows the name of his second victim but according to Carlos, Claire's death wasn't accidental – someone paid the Mala Noche to have her killed. Now, Horatio and Delko must continue to investigate this dangerous gang to find their real motive for killing Jose.
Meanwhile, Calleigh and Ryan discover an unknown substance on Claire's inner thigh and visit Cantor Pharmaceuticals, where Claire used to work. Her boss, Alyssa Prince, knows what the substance could be but can't reveal it to the CSIs, as they are currently waiting FDA approval on a new drug, and any information leaked out could cripple the company. Calleigh wonders why Claire, head of public relations, would have some of the drug's substances on her thigh. Peter Berman, head of research, should be able to answer that question.
According to Peter, however, the substance got on Claire's thigh because she was teaching him how to dance. The CSIs quickly realize this crime seems to have no motive, until they discover a series of blogs kept by various company employees, in which company secrets were revealed daily. Could Claire's death be connected to these blogs? And if she was a mole, which one of the employees put a hit on her? When another Cantor employee and blog user is killed later that day, it's obvious someone is trying to keep something hidden.
Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from early script drafts and the details and the airing order of the episodes are liable to change before the episodes are shown.
"Silencer" will most likely air during Feburary of 2006.
