  • David Caruso (Horatio Caine) recently talked to Entertainment Tonight about his character's new storyline and how it's freshened the show. "Anyone can go anywhere any time. This is a really cool device in which the lead investigator is now the suspect. So how we paint ourselves out of this corner is the challenge of the hour. It is a terrific obstacle and there are all these amazing stumbling clocks and twists and turns."

  • 18-year-old Heather McClain, a breast cancer survivor, recently visited the set of CSI via the organization Wishing Star. McClain also had the opportunity to be an extra on the show, in addition to meeting some of the stars. Producer's assistant Matt Laudermilk said the show receives around three or four of these wishes a year. "I get to meet celebrities, I get to be on a show, and I get to feel like a celebrity — all in the same day," she says. "I wasn't really expecting it to happen," said McCalin.

  • The CSI: Miami blog was recently updated by executive story editor Corey Miller. In this latest update, Miller talks about the CSI equipment they have around the set and real vs. fictional lab work.

  • CSI consultant Dr. Gary Telgenhoff was interviewed by the Petoskey News-Review about his role on the show and his real life experiences in crime scene investigation. Regarding the way the job is depicted on CSI, he said, "It's Hollywood. It's entertainment. Accept it for what it is."

  • And more news regarding the lack of realism on CSI. The Soux City Journal talked to real life Attorney Mark Campbell, who said finding usable DNA at a crime scene is a rare event.

  • CBS's Thursday night line-up is so strong, other networks seem to be having second thoughts about going up against it, even with their most popular shows. Mitch Metcalf, NBC's senior VP of program planning and scheduling, said moving a show to Thursday night is tricky due to the competition. "It's something we're constantly evaluating. What you don't want to do is move a show before its time or when it's too late in its life cycle. When we make a move on Thursday or any another night, we'll do it when it's in our long-term, best strategic interests."

  • CSI: New York is finally arriving in France. The series premieres on November 12th on the channel TF1. Visit CSI: Forum for more European related news.

  • The Lt. Dan Band, which features Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor), will perform at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA, this October 29th. Visit the Coach House's official website for a chance to win free tickets to the concert.

  • The Emily Procter (Calleigh Duquesne) dedicated website Emily Procter Online has been updated with screen caps of the CSI: Miami episode "Three-Way."

  • Sara Sidle centered screen caps of the CSI episode "Gum Drops" have been added to the Jorja Fox website JFO.

  • The website Past My Shoulder has been updated with 50 pages worth of screen caps of the CSI: New York episode "Corporate Warriors."

  • And on the Miami front, the website Miami Style has screen caps of the latest episode "Under Suspicion."

  • Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) and her husband Alan Rosenberg's Celebrity Charity Texas Hold'em Tournament is going to Omaha. Many celebrities, including CSI's Wallace Langham (David Hodges) are expected to attend. Proceeds from the event will go to the Susie Q Foundation.

  • Violence on television has gotten much more graphic in the last couple of decades, but does it make real people violent in turn? The Philadelphia Inquirer explored the possibility that it makes people more scared and paranoid than violent. "That scares the hell out of us - the idea of being killed randomly by someone we don't even know," said Scott Poland, a psychology professor at Nova Southeastern University. "That doesn't fit the real pattern of violence in America where serial killers are exceedingly rare. But it sells books."

  • Zap2It is giving away two box sets of the complete first season of CSI: New York on DVD. Contestants needs to merely provide their information for the website. You must be 18 years old to be eligible.

  • Melina Kanakaredes (Stella Bonasera) will host the upcoming Halloween trick-or-treat fund-raiser for the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation on October 3th. Tickets sell for $200 per adult, $100 per child. Thanks to Elyse for this.

  • New Criminologist News has provided a review of the CSI game "Dark Motives." Reviewer Tony Gurney spelled out the differences between the first and second game CSI game. "The difference is phenomenal, but you can so clearly see that the foundations of the first title are strongly in place, and that this game stays absolutely true to the original concepts and ideals seen in the TV series."
