One hot little number is truly to die for.
According to CSI Files sources, the fifth episode of CSI: Miami's seventh season will be called "Bombshell". The episode opens in a designer boutique in Coral Gables--more specifically, in the dressing room. Oscar Serino, the boutique's owner, hands clothes to the wealthy clientele over the doors.
Two teenage girls, Kim and Amy, come out of their dressing rooms at the same time and appraise each other. The girls are best friends, and they tease each other before they return to their dressing rooms to try on something new. Kim touches the mirror and it turns into an LCD display screen. She picks out an outfit she'd like to try on and drags it to the center of the screen, waiting for the items to be brought to her.
Amy tries on a bikini, using the LCD mirror to place her reflection against a beach backdrop. She even adds simulated sun lighting, and a fan provides a fake wind in the dressing room so she can get the full effect. She turns around and the LCD snaps an image of her backside, which she can then turn around and see on the mirror's surface.
Kim is in the process of putting on a white suede mini dress when Oscar hands her outfit over the top of the door. She pauses to hang the items to the side and then turns back to her reflection as she zips up the side of the dress. There's a loud explosion and a blinding flash of light, glass and shattered LCD flying through the air as smoke fills the ruined room.
The fire department and bomb squad empty the scene so Horatio's team can get inside. Dr Price kneels next to Kim's body, remarking that she's surprised they only have one victim. The blast seems to be confined to this one dressing room--this is where the explosion originated. Dr Price says she can't get a good look at Kim's injuries without taking her back to the morgue because the dress is fused to her body.
The team discovers a rare iPod at the scene, which they believe was used to make the bomb. It was sold at the shop across the street. The woman who owns it admits to having a bit of a rivalry with Oscar and says she wanted to see his virtual dressing room for herself. She must have dropped the iPod.
Dr Price calls Ryan and asks him to come to the morgue. She shows him Kim's injuries and points out that the trauma is found mainly on her torso. Her face, shoulders, back and legs are nearly unscathed. They then take a look at the remains of Kim's dress. Dr Price found two copper wires; one is connected to the top of each half of the zipper. Ryan follows the path of the wires and finds a small watch battery sewn into the dress. It would produce enough of a charge to ignite a small amount of C4 explosives. Doing up the zipper completed the circuit. Her dress was the bomb.
Meanwhile, Horatio must deal with personal problems. Julia is nearly arrested for writing a bad check. It's happened before, and the owner of the store is trying to get her for fraud. Julia claims that Leonard McBride, the businessman she and Ron Saris put in charge of watching their money, is stealing from her. Horatio confronts Leonard, who tells him that Julia invested her millions badly (thanks in no small part to Ron) and is spending out of control. She's on a downward spiral, and Leonard says he can't get through to her--but maybe Horatio can.
