CBS recently released the official synopses for this week's CSI: Miami and CSI: New York episodes.
Miami's second episode this season, "Pro Per", is scheduled to air on September 27. The episode will deal with the drive-by shooting of a young woman:
A woman is killed during a posh party at an exclusive waterfront estate when a man opens fire on the proceedings from a cigarette boat. When a former con is arrested, he acts as his own lawyer and proves to be smarted than he appears. Complicating matters is the fact that the leading witness in the case is the dead woman's 10-year-old son, whom Horatio wants to protect, refusing to let him testify.
The episode was directed by Fred Keller, who helmed season two's "Wannabe". His other credits include instalments of 24, Boomtown, Angel and Roswell. "Pro Per" was written by Miami technical consultant John Haynes and writer/producer Steven Maeda.
"Pro Per" will feature the following guest actors, with previous credits or CSI appearances in brackets:
- Sofia Milos as Detective Yelina Salas
- Boti Ann Bliss as Valera
- David Lee Smith as Rick Stetler
- Rex Linn as Detective Tripp
- Stephen Tobolowsky as Don ("Simple Man", "Freaks and Tweaks")
- Laz Alonso as Deuce (The Practice, Without a Trace)
- Noah Gray-Cabey (My Wife and Kids)
- Karla Osella (Chat)
- Kevin McCorkle (Detective Gil Sherman in Cold Case)

CSI: New York will air its second regular episode, "Creatures of the Night", on September 29. TV Guide has provided the following synopsis: "A girl is brutally attacked while walking through Central Park, leaving her with no recollection of the assault; meanwhile, Mac and Aiden investigate the murder of a drug dealer." The publication did not release details of the creative staff responsible for the episode or a listing of the guest actors.
There will be no new CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode this coming Thursday, September 30, due to the screening of the presidential debate. However, a repeat of "Paper or Plastic?" will air at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, before CSI: New York.
