  • For those of you who are still interested, CBS today finally released the promo video for tonight's CSI episode, "Kiss-Kiss, Bye-Bye." You can download the promo here.

  • Chris Penn, brother of Sean Penn, was found dead this past Tuesday in his Santa Monica home. The 40 year old actor once guest starred in the CSI: Miami episode "Grave Young Men," portraying Pete Wilton. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

  • The Rory Cochrane (Tim Speedle) film Right At Your Door, formerly known as Forearm Shiver, has been purchased by the distributing company Lionsgate Entertainment for 3 million dollars plus substantial profit participation fees. The company will now have the rights to distribute the film, which was first showcased at the Sundance Film Festival. Right At Your Door sees a series of apocalyptic terrorist attacks in Los Angeles told through a married couple's point of view. The film was directed by Christ Gorak and also stars Mary McCormack (The West Wing).

  • CSI has been nominated by the Cinema Audio Society as best television drama against HBO's Deadwood and Rome, Fox's 24, and NBC's The West Wing. The telefilm Category 7, which starred Miami's Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko) was also nominated in the best mini-series category. The Cinema Audio Society's 42nd annual awards ceremony will take place on February 25th at the Millennium-Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.

  • The networks WB and UPN will this fall merge into one network called CW, which will be owned by both CBS and Time Warner Inc. The network will be more youth oriented than its parent companies, and will follow the WB's 13 hours of prime-time programming on six nights a week model. Both the WB and UPN have struggled to gain an impressive amount of viewers in the last 11 year but both have somewhat failed. "UPN was approaching a point where we were hoping to break even, and we were getting close," said CBS president Les Moonves. "The long-range plan looked far better with this (new network)."

  • Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown) recently participated in the United Negro College Fund's fund-raising gala An Evening of Stars, which this year honored Stevie Wonder with an all-star tribute for his contributions to the music industry and for his role as a global humanitarian and philanthropist. UNCF also managed to raise 15 million dollars in the gala, which was broadcast by all major networks in early January.

  • CSI characters Warrick Brown and Catherine Willows were profiled in TV Envy as one of the 5 television relationships viewers most what to see consummated. "Enough already! They’ve flirted for years, exchanging compliments, coy looks, and secret smiles. The fans are ready for some action. Dump the other lady, Warrick, and cozy up to Cath!" said that article.

  • The Melina Kanakaredes (Stella Bonasera) website Divine Providence has been updated with screen caps of the actress's appearance in The Practice episodes First Degree" and "Sex, Lies & Monkeys."

  • If you live in Norway, TV Norge has announced it will air the 6th season of CSI immediately following the season 5 finale episode "Grave Danger," which is set to air February 23rd and 28th. The second season of New York will also premiere in the country this April 22nd, but season 4 of Miami doesn't have a spot in the network's schedule yet.

  • The CSI: Official DVD Collection has unveiled its 30th issue. With Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) on the cover, the issue will take a closer look at sexual predators, computer forensics, electron microscopes, and an interview with set designer Richard Berg. You can preview this issue here.

  • The Jonathan Togo (Ryan Wolfe) centered Jonathan Togo Online Gallery has been updated with screen caps of the Miami episode "Silencer."

  • CSI encouraged 16-year-old high school student Cheryl Johnson to test the "left-eye, right-eye" theory for her school's science fair. The theory, which was profiled on the show, suggest people who are lying during an interrogation tend to glance out of their right eyes. Through the course of her research, Johnson managed to attend a college level interrogation course, prove her theory right, and win first place at the science fair's human behavioral science category. She also decided to take an optional state exam that certifies people as interrogators, passed it, and is currently the youngest interrogators in the country.

  • Similarly, the popularity of CSI and other science oriented shows are encouraging even Catholic schools to offer a forensic science course for students who have a B+ grade or higher in biology, chemistry and physics.

  • Last Monday's episode of Miami, "Silencer," featured an impressive virtual keyboard and even more impressive company blog, and the website LAist only lamented the real Miami blog isn't as "with the times" as the one in the episode. The website also mentioned that in light of the mention of blogdaze.com in the episode, CBS.com has decided to launch a real blogdaze.com.

  • The search engine Google.com admitted to a design mistake in Google Video that left visitors unable to purchase episodes of CSI. While the site promoted visitors could buy episodes of the series, it wasn't properly advertised in the main page. "We made a big mistake," Vice President Marissa Mayer said. "You can't come out and launch a product like Google Video and say CSI and Survivor are there if they're not on the home page." CSI is now one of the main series profiled in the Google Video webpage.
