By KristineJanuary 25, 2004 - 11:35 PM
CSI: Crime Scene Investigations and William Petersen will be competing in tonight's 61st Annual Golden Globe Awards in the Best Television Drama and Best Actor in a Television Drama categories, respectively.
Elyse is reporting at her CSI Site that Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) will be a presenter at the ceremony. It is not yet known what award she will be presenting. The Golden Globes will air at 8pm Eastern time tonight on NBC.
E! Online predicts that Nip/Tuck will take the coveted Best TV Drama award, and places CSI's odds of winning at 7 to 2. However, they predict Petersen will win in the Best Actor, Drama category, and bring home CSI's first Golden Globe award. Though they call it a "tight race," E! chose Petersen over competitors Kiefer Sutherland, Martin Sheen, Anthony LaPaglia and Michael Chiklis to bring home the award.
The E! channel has been running specials all day for the Golden Globes, and George Eads (Nick Stokes) made an appearance. Elyse reported that George is bringing his father to the Golden Globes, and was asked on the red carpet about violence on the show. He did concede it was graphic, and went on to comment about the fake blood, which he reported tastes like peppermint. E! also ran a special segment on CSI today at 4pm, which focused on the special effects of CSI and on the new spinoff, CSI: New York.
