Singer Alison Sudol, also known as A Fine Frenzy, will try out her acting chops.

Sudol will appear in the season premiere of CSI: New York airing later this week. In the episode, "Can You Hear Me Now?", Sudol will be playing a musician named Nova Kent. The team must protect Nova from a vigilante that wants to see her dead.

Sudol does not do much acting, and New York will be one of her first roles. However, she is no stranger to music. In the episode, she will also be performing two songs from her debut album, One Cell in the Sea: "Almost Lover" and "Last of Days". Earlier this year, One Cell in the Sea debuted at number three on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, and "Almost Lover" is currently in the Top 30 at Mainstream AC radio.

Sudol will appear in several magazines in the near future including Vogue, Keyboard Magazine and Risen Magazine. The video for "Almost Lover" is being played in large rotation on VH1. Additionally, A Fine Frenzy is currently touring with Brandi Carlisle on the VH1 "You Outta Know" tour 2007, which has upcoming dates along the east coast.

The original article is from PR Newswire. "Can You Hear Me Now?" airs Wednesday, September 26 on CBS.
