Felix Alcala has directed for numerous prime-time television series, including NYPD Blue, Third Watch and The Shield. In 1995, he was nominated for a Directors Guild of America award for helming the ER episode "The Gift". His only previous CSI credit is "One Hit Wonder".
Consulting producer Jonathan Glassner, previously of Stargate SG-1, co-wrote "Big Brother" and "Blood Moon". Brian Davidson is Miami's script co-ordinator; this is his first credited episode.
Here's how TV Guide describes the episode:
A former surfing star is shot and abducted, his wife bound and their son beaten during a break-in at their plush home. The investigation reveals that some valuable antique statues were taken. It also turns up drugs in the house, which are ready for street sale.

Kenneth Fink is a producer and regular CSI director. His numerous episodes include "Identity Crisis", "Play With Fire" and "Paper or Plastic?".
Jerry Stahl is also a familiar name to CSI fans, having penned many of the show's most infamous episodes, including "Slaves of Las Vegas" and "Fur and Loathing".
TV Guide's synopsis is as follows:
A well-dressed man driving an expensive car is murdered in a drug-infested neighborhood, but robbery apparently was not a motive; a dead clown is discovered stuffed inside of a huge truck tire at an auto junkyard; Grissom learns some surprising news about Dr. Robbins.
