'CSI' Worst Show On TV, Says PTC

The Parents Television Council has named CSI: Crime Scene Investigation the worst show on television for family-friendly viewers.

The 800,000-member organization that monitors sex and violence on American television released lists of the most and least family-friendly series on Thursday, according to Yahoo!

PTC Research Director Melissa Caldwell condemned CBS particularly for rerunning CSI in the 8 p.m. hour, when children were likely to be watching.

The council condemned the series for its episodes about cannibalism, sex clubs and snuff films. "There are ways you can deal with these issues without having to be as graphic," said Caldwell.

Chris Ender of CBS said that to label CSI the "worst" in any capacity "is pretty ridiculous. Thankfully, 26 million viewers a week don't agree."

Touched By an Angel was cited by the PTC as television's best show for its emphasis on familial relationships "and an encouragement to maintain faith in God."

More shows on NBC ran afoul of the PTC than those on CBS, however, as the rival network received four condemnations in comparison with CBS's two.
