CBS Announces 2006-2007 Season Schedule

Alter a victorious year in the ratings, CBS announced recently its new schedule for the 2006-2007 season.
The Eye network is returning next season with four new series, and has renewed eighteen of its existing shows, including the CSI trio. CBS also announced it's renewed the freshman series Ghost Whisperer, which stars CSI's Aisha Tyler (Mia Dickerson).
The only new sitcom, The Class, reunites a group of 10-somethings that went to the same third grade class. The drama Smith deals with a group of criminal masterminds, Jericho revolves around a small town in Kansas that witnesses a nuclear mushroom cloud in the sky and are left to wonder if they're the only Americans left in the country. Shark will revolve around an LA attorney looking for a change.
CBS is adding considerably less new series to its schedule, compared to the other networks, but they're confident their new line-up will earn them another victory next year. "This is our fourth consecutive year as the most-watched network...you're in good hands with CBS...think CBS first..." said the network's president Less Moonves.
The CSI trio is staying put in their regular slots, but ABC recently announced its newest hit Grey's Anatomy will go opposite CSI next season, a move that has everyone worried about the fate of CSI. Moonves, however, remains hopeful. "Two big hit shows can work in the same time period. I'm not saying Grey's Anatomy won't ding CSI a little bit."
CBS is making another bold move by moving Without A Trace to Sunday nights alongside Cold Case. "We believe change creates opportunity," CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler said. "There is nothing they can throw at us that Trace can't take on."
